Don't think that is a bug, was originally only intended for the forums from what we gathered. It has been requested for this to also be possible in release histories though.

It's so old it's probably not a bug but an idiosyncratic Discogs feature:
• can't rename artist once it's been incorrectly created as ARTIST or artist or arTist
• as above, with LABEL and COMPANY.

We still have errors all over the place in displaying RTL (right to left) languages, particularly when in a release which also has LTR (left to right) languages. This applies to the release page, artist page, ANVs, etc... On Discogs this is mainly Arabic, Farsi and Hebrew. We do have a much smaller number of submissions in languages like Aramaic, Azeri and Yiddish which are also impacted.

Haven't seen forum discussions, but noticed this as well.
Sometimes it doersn't work, sometimes it does nothing when you check the strict search box, then when you uncheck the strict searc box it sometimes performs the strict search after all. This happened a few times.

Can you add the Move to Index bug to the list, basically, when managing my list, i click the Move to Index button, select page 2 and it move's the item to page one every time, sure i could use "show 250" but that slows down page loading on some computers and wont work if the item count es 250 items.

Can someone confirm this bug, described by TReimer?

· Entirely Incorrect votes do not revert edits made by a whose is now closed. Reported via a ticket in Nov. 2015; the ticket was closed with a comment that it probably won't be fixed until the voting system is rewritten.

· In the image gallery, the "zoom in" button and magnifying glass only sort-of work, just toggling between the default view (vertically cropped and possibly also size-reduced to fit the screen) and a full-size uncropped image, which on a large screen is almost always identical to the default view. Oct. 2016 to no avail.

· In the image gallery, the "zoomed-in" image is apparently displayed in a slightly smaller container, resulting in slightly different vertical positioning and extra scrollbars. Apr. 2015.

· Forum search results include posts from anywhere in a thread, but they all say "Started by [name]" as if every post was the first in the thread. Reported via a ticket in Nov. 2016; it was closed without comment.

· Comments are mixed in with reviews. Everywhere they are referred to (e.g. in headings above the reviews, and on profile pages), they are just called reviews. The notion that some of these items are actually not reviews is left to the to infer from the fact that reviews say "as reviewed by [name]". Reported via 2 tickets in Jan. 2016; both were closed without comment.

· Thread display in the reviews and comments only has one level of indenting and the replies are in reverse chronological order, so it is often difficult to tell who is replying to what. I'm sure this has been complained about in the forums, but I don't have a link handy.

· When staff deletes reviews or comments, no notifications are sent to the commenter, nor is any record kept of the transaction. Reported Dec. 2016.

Album samplers are treated as albums on the artist pages, but are forbidden from being in MRs with the full albums, prompting Master Release edit wars. There are surely a number of discussions about it.

Duplicate labels on a release (as needed when entering multiple catalog numbers with multiple labels) are not always collapsed in the master release. Example at NJoi* - Mindflux / Malfunction / Phoenix / Rhythm Zone. The catalog numbers are collapsed, but the labels are not. I don't know if this has been reported.

The bug is that there's no way to keep samplers and other album-like releases from being listed under Albums rather than Misc; the rename idea is a temporary patch for accurate description of the current situation.

Exactly —the problem is that non-full length recordings are also being placed in the album section.

For example, a sampler is not a full length recording —it's a sampler taken from a full length recording. WMOE-108.9* Presents The Beatnuts - Maniacal Moments (Snippets From The Album Stone Crazy) is an example that can help put this into perspective. Regardless of format/title/the fact it's an album sampler, based on the number of tracks, it resembles a full length release. However, each track is just a snippet and therefore only a few seconds long. Likewise, it just repeats on the B-side. Thus, even though it resembles a full length release, it actually contains about 10-15 minutes of audio of which 50% is redundant. In other words, it's a 5-7 minute long release masquerading as a full length that should sort into misc., but does not because Discogs' system doesn't appear to have a mechanism for automatically relegating releases tagged as Samplers into the Misc. section.

Comparatively, transcription releases are indeed usually closer to being a 'full length' release at least in total duration. However, I think these are more of a problem in of disagreements, flame wars, votes, etc. amongst s simply because this really muck up the artist discography pages. I've wrong this before, but in practical , if transcription is a not a Misc. format, then I really don't know what would qualify as Misc. being that these are predominantly just random records pressed exclusively for radio networks to play on the air.

I submitted a ticket for this recently. I think a ruling in the guidelines on this one way or the other would solve some reoccurring disputes over zero padding track times and whether or not the way a webhost displays data is considered part of the 'release art'.

The guidelines are vague on this subject and seem to contradict themselves in a few places. Myself and other s feel there needs to a specific ruling on when zeros can be placed before a duration of say 06:00 RSG §12.2.8.RSG §12.6.1

I know that there is an exception for this when the padding is present in the release art but due to Bandcamp automatically padding the times many submitters think this is part of the release art. I don't believe that is.

I suggest adding the following:

12.6.6. Zero padding in the duration should only be included when it appears in the release art. In the case of digital releases this must be in supplied digital images that are included with the release and not the zero padding style choice of the host website that it was ed from.

The response from the ticket system suggested a start a thread about adding this to the guidelines. Forum Thread #746672

I guess this is a feature request:

If another makes a change while you are in the process of editing a release yourself you will not get notified that it has been changed and your changes will overwrite theirs without warning.

I don't have the time to go through all of these at the moment, but specifically regarding the 'bugs', I suggest some ideas:

* Can it be reproduced? A bug that can't be reproduced can be very hard to track down.
* Was it a glitch? Some systems are not perfect, and things can get missed in the cache or get stuck there. Sometimes, an edit or other such data 'bumping' will fix it.
* Some things listed are not bugs, but either intended functionality or restrictions in the system that make enabling a certain feature too onerous for the moment.
* If a bug is serious or can be reproduced, please report it via the system.

Simple test case: the Beatles have plenty of records with five-digit prices, most of which are priced in JPY; these common items obscure the few similar-looking but precious albums priced in EUR or USD or GBP.

For any problem like that, just do an edit to the release and it will likely fix it. Issues like that (multiple entries of the same release) were likely hiccups in the system when it was being indexed, and are not reproducible, and the underlying issue is likely fixed.

Also, one that I forgot to mention, but unfortunately can't reproduce or explain it easily.
If you go to the AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio & Television Service) label page, which is invalidated, there are eight releases.
If you go to the release pages of the the releases with images, none have AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio & Television Service) listed in the LCCN.
The releases are: 1) The Grateful Dead / America (2) - Wake Of The Flood / Hat Trick

Not sure what to call this? Releases displaying on previous label page after update? IDK?

Another to add to the list: Submission history prev/next/page# navigation does not work in submission browser.

(of course I'm making a joke, but there is quite a bit of "why bother?" in the air lately, and keeping our own public list helps us know what has and hasn't been reported.)

By the way, I have submitted tickets only to have them:
• closed without comment
• closed with a generic, somewhat dismissive response like the above
• closed by someone who completely misunderstood the bug being reported
• closed and told to start a discussion here

Some tickets have even gone missing from the system (on my end).

For releases with multiple images: if you view the images, you can hit the escape key to return to the release page. But this only works with the first image you view. If you scroll through to any other image, the escape button will no longer exit the image display and return you to the release page. At that point you need to click with the mouse to exit the image display.

I would call them "Bugs". See for example

This is certainly known more then 10 years, but Discogs denies to fix this guideline or to fix the notification system.

I think a bug is more of something that's not working correctly such as the ANV for RSG §2.3.1 Special Artists rather than something that should be developed and implemented, but it's NBD/just semantics.

if the site is can't display text, i would say its a bug relating to a missing character set, the release is pointless if you can't search it or read it, missing character sets hurt the usability of the site

Limitate vandalism: There should be a limit for new s modifications (ie: 5 modifications per day). After some correct votes and maybe some extra time (one week?) promote to full access. There also should be a way to flag a as vandalic by any full and procceed in a similar way merges are dealt now: with enough votes he should be automatically limited or banned.
