Problems when correcting a submission / recurrent message of error

As this is not the first time I do encounter that kind of problem, I take some time to report what's happening at the moment;

everything was okay, - https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/edit/1902637 - but on my last attempt to preview/submit before validating new data, there's a message error I can't jump and I'm blocked in my "work" - the other times, the sole solutions for me was to resume from the beginning - here's part of the message:

I just tried your link, DanyLeDog, and only received a notice for Submission Notes being required. Whatever it was, it may have been solved. Or, maybe just intermittent.

The problem is that sometimes, we make a long edit on a release and then it doesn't allow to submit.
With a new edit on the same submission, let's say in a diferent device, it will probably not happen again.

When LCCN is edited, and then you try to submit, a comma can be seen as if a Label field existed in LCCN with empty Name and empty Catalogue Number, but the fields of this extra Label cannot be seen at the edit page, so you cannot fill them or remove them.

I just meant the original problem seemed to have cleared for that particular submission. I haven't encountered it so don't know what to do when it's there on a sub. A new submission, that you should be able to save the draft and reopen, but for an edit like you mention, yeah, that could be a real pain. Trying it from a different device/platform/browser seems like a good idea if you're able to sign in and access it "live". I only use the mobile site by phone so am not sure if that works or not. Not being much help, am I?

Just saw your post about not being able to see the fields. That could really get you pissed off after entering several changes. A Request wouldn't solve the problem right away, but might get attention so it gets fixed.

already have met this problem several times before. to my mind it comes from the wi-fi connections ! if network was lost during the edit, it results a preview with each lccn set to ‘label’ by default, asking cat# for every missing ones, and every roles have to be distributed again for error messages do not appear anymore. the problem never appears when wi-fi connection is stable (imo) !

This problem still occasionally occurs and is very annoying. I haven't found any other solution than to cancel the whole edit and start again from the beginning – which is painful if you were making a long edit.
Typically this problem happens when you click on a button to add a new company to LCCN or a new credit: the system saves the new field but for whatever reason doesn't display it. You can not see the new field but the system does and it will not let you submit your edit, as it will always ask you to fill the field(s) you cannot see.
If you close the tab, open it again and click on the 'okay' button when the system asks you if you want to restore your session, nothing changes: the problem is still there.
If instead you throw your edit away and start from the beginning, of course after having cursed the whole world, usually this problem doesn't happen a second time in a row.
One thing for sure: it's not limited to wi-fi connections, as a lot of times I've experienced it on my main computer, that does not use a wi-fi connection.

LCCN or a new credit

Happened to me 2 or 3 times with the LCCN but (fortunately) never with the Credits.

Typically it happens with LCCN but – at least IIRC – occasionally it happened to me also with a credit and maybe even with BaOI (not sure about this though).

my thought is, if my comment above is true about lccn section and reseting of the dropdown menus if wi-fi connection was lost during the edit, you are probably right about baoi, too, vinyljunkie66 (as this section has similar dropdown menus...) !
if it’s the same, and dropdown menus are reset to ‘barcode’ fields, as it does about ‘label’, it explains why it results errors in submission, the server asking you the still required data for ‘barcodes’, as well as it still asks required cat# for ‘labels’ to the lccn section...

that’s what i was doing first, too, until i have seen redistributing again the roles of the companies was working also (in fact, when i say every called roles are reset to ‘label’ by default, it’s not previewable during the result. but, you generally have 7 errors for 7 called companies roles, before. that’s how i have deducted the 7 fields have to be redistributed again. now, it makes me win a lot of times when it happens).

probably more elaborate and more compatible with ‘autosave’ function of the server menus, than the lccn and baoi dropdown ones...

not sure it’s a question of time, sometimes it happens very fast (when connection is really unstable, imo, or maybe because there was too many people connected at the same time, don’t know exactly)...

the bug looks like corrected, actually ! what do you think ?

because of my poor wi-fi connection, i have had a message ‘the server was lost...’, a few minutes ago, but when i refreshed the page, the edit was correct, no lccn reset ! :o)
