Surprised by the quality of this pressing considering the price (I got mine for $18 on amazon). The gatefold is rock solid, like the record. Nothing flimsy here. No issues, tics or anything whatsoever on this. Clean sound and very boomy.

The only problem I have with this pressing is I have a hard time hearing the keys/organ? Could just be my copy or setup but I am interested to hear from others.

Nice, loud and clear. Great balance of bass and treble. Probably the best pure rock record ever

A few small ticks and pops, but nothing obtrusive. Soundstage is nice and wide, with great dynamics. I used to have an original (probably late 70's reissue) that I played to death in my youth. Somewhere along it's journey, I loaned it to a friend and never had it returned. I never replaced the vinyl as I at one point purchased the CD, then the Roger Glover remix double CD, which were my primary listeners.

Spinning this now, it takes me back to my youth. Actually, this one probably sounds better from a quiet vinyl standpoint. As others have noted, this could probably use a touch of treble if you have a warm system. The noise floor is pretty deep, so it can take some volume (as any DP should!). The low end and the drums/cymbals sound perfect in the mix. And that damn organ solo on the intro to Lazy sounds so thick, you just have to turn it up!

Now off to the Ultrasonic to see if I can't rid myself of those few minor ticks.

Can anyone comment on how this compares to a UK original?

Sounds very clean, very expansive soundstage, but I got to crank it louder than normal and turn the treble up to get it to sound like my nicked up original. Actually I like this better. This begs the question...is KG sacrifing a little high end in order to chase silent vinyl? This is HQ though, just a little different.

Is this a digital cut? I ask because this has “KPG@CA” in the wax, the 2006 AAA Warner Bros pressing had “KPG@ATM”. Van Morrison’s Moondance had the same situation, in which the 2008 AAA WB pressing was cut at AcousTech but the 2021 Warner digital pressing was cut at Cohearent

I've never heard an original copy of this record, but I'd like to think this reissue sounds just as good as it does. Flat, maybe one or two small ticks of surface noise that'll go away after a few plays. Kevin Gray smashed it.

You can tell someone cared about reissuing this record. Well done. KG@CA always a mark of quality.

The very first time a dropped a needle on this record, I felt like the vocals were a bit muffeled. I grew up having this album (along with In Rock/Fireball/Stormbringer) on a cassette back in the 90's, probably copied 50 times from some kind of a West German pressing. The vocals were definitely much brighter what I .

Needless to say, the booming bass is fantastic!!!! I truly believe that Kevin Gray has faithfully reproduced what is on the master tape. My ears just need to be retrained....

One small complaint I have is that I wish Warner used the purple label instead of this ugly olive green label. Even the German Harvest would have been better than this. But for $22, this record is a steal!!!!

I picked this up to have a clean vinyl copy of this great album that until now had only owned in digital formats and figured a mastering by Kevin Gray would be a safe bet… and it was. I'm amazed at how good this reissue sounds. I wasn't expecting it to, but this album now resides in my special stash of showcase albums to show off my system. Kevin and Cohearent hit a home run with this.
