This is the best version of all the newer pressings I was able to listen to.

This is the only record in my collection even remotely close to death metal

This album will never sound better than this pressing. Nice improvements to the dynamics of this album were made by the remastering. Lows are lower and punchier. Highs have great detail. Obvious limitations exist due to the mediocre recording quality but, this one is polished up nicely. Pallas, Bellman.

I bought this back in March of 2021. I pulled this one, MoP and RTL out to take listen to them again after seeing a few live performances on YouTube. This sounds so damn good I wanted to see what I had written for a review back in 2021. Well, it looks like I didn’t comment back then which I usually always do.

I was reading the comments below and I don’t know what happened but it seems at some point in the last 3 years the pressing of this record may have gone to sh!t, or the setups on those commenting are not the best (I know it hurts people’s feelings to hear that). I dont have some audiophile system but it’s decent. My listening experience is sooooo much different from what people have posted in the last year - I’m puzzled.

The highs are clear and not harsh in any way, the vinyl is flat, there is just about zero surface noise (I do give all my records an ultrasonic wash), and the overall sound is fantastic. The comment about no bass I also dont get - I’m listening to Cliff’s solo as I type this and my sub is getting a work out doubled by Lar’s kick drum. In fact, my wife just texted me to “turn down the fck bass!”. I love her, really I do.

So I dont know, my copy on my system sounds fantastic. Curious to see what others have to say about RTL and MoP after all these years from the reissue.

Terrible release of an excellent album. Thin and harsh with no bottom end. I'm pretty sure an original 83 pressing would sound better than this "remaster"

Extremely harsh sounding and very bright/high end. An EQ is practically essential for this pressing but there’s only so much it can do. I’d go with a CD instead , this vinyl sounds worse than my MP3 when compared

This record sends my tonearm on such a wild ride with how super warped and off-center it is. But it tracks fine, and it is dead quiet. The sound is very sharp and crisp. It could use more bottom end, particularly on side A.

Found this brand new copy at Barns and Nobles(of all places lol) for $25. I have my bass knob turned up all the way and it still sounds flat. This reissue has a great, clean, pure sound and Im not complaining but the low end is lacking a bit. It's worth picking up for the price but some songs definitely sounds better then others which makes it a really odd Re issue pressing for me lol

Thinnest sounding record ever. Sounds better on mp3. I would avoid buying this.

Does the volume decrease dramatically in the beginning of Jump In The Fire or is it just my ears?
