I’m not sure if I just got lucky, or if I’m missing something, but my copy sounds great! Didn’t need any more than a standard brush before playing. I Know the End sounds PHENOMENAL. It’s a gorgeous swirly peacock marble, and it sounds great to me!

Really noisy pressing on the verge of being unlistenable at first but after a couple of cleans on the manual cleaning machine it was fine. Really bad QC by the manufacturers tho'.

Tons of surface noise on my copy, very disappointing. Packaging is great though.

The mastering on this one leaves so much to be desired. It sounds like it was mastered down a pay phone, distant and mildly distorted. One of the worst mastered vinyl records I own, the Qobuz hi res stream absolutely destroys it. Such a shame, as usual Dead Oceans have no idea how to master for vinyl and instead focus on pretty colours.

Sounds horrible, I am very disappointed with the quality of the pressing. I will probably never listen to this pressing again.

Finally played my copy after picking it up on release day ... really happy with mine, must be one of the lucky ones!

Just like beardymusicguy, I'm surprised by the other reviews on here because my copy sounds great! On my first play, there were some pops and crackles in the first two tracks of Side A but a light clean was able to remove it almost instantly. By my fourth play, it played smoothly without any surface noise, pops, or crackles that diminished the listening experience. The color variant on this pressing is quite a beauty too. Would recommend this variant if you get your hands on a good copy!

I’m surprised by the other reviews, or maybe just lucky, but my copy sounds lush - there’s the slightest warp, without any perceptible effect to the sound, there’s no surface noise or popping. I’ve listened to the album digitally extensively since it’s release and only had the record on twice now, and the record - to my ears - is the superior listen. Plenty of detail providing atmosphere the digital experience lacks. There is a slightly dusty sound to much of the album, but that’s absolutely the mixes/mastering present both digitally and on the vinyl, which err on the “hot” side occasionally, as opposed to the effects of a particular format. At least, that’s my perception. The vinyl I have playing now sounds fantastic.

The label should genuinely be ashamed of this. Hands down the worst pressing i've ever heard
