I wish the original RSD release and whatever the new pressing from China is would be separated. As someone who got mine on Record Store Day, it's annoying to see them somehow find a loophole to do another pressing. It was an RSD EXCLUSIVE, meaning that should have been the only pressing ever. It's so annoying. So much for owning something that was supposed to be high in value and not easy for everyone to get.

Very beautiful album, a masterpiece for Taylor, very good, awesome!

Common records and Schatten records must be making a killing on the Chinese variant. They can retire after this pressing has come and gone ;).

... as if Vantiva - the Mexican pressing plant who pressed this 2023 RSD release - was known for its outstanding pressing process (if anything, it's the opposite), and as if Universal China was going to make lathe cuts from mp3 files. For the Western releases, Taylor Swift records were usually cut at Sterling and mostly pressed at GZ Media, MPO, Optimal Media etc. Nothing amazing in the process.

On the other side, the few Chinese Taylor Swift releases all had lacquer cuts made by well known & reputable Scott Hull (2) at Masterdisk. It's extremely unlikely it the Chinese pressing will sound anything worse than this Mexican pressing, whether from the same Sterling plates or not. And it's not like the aforementioned crybabies here would be able to notice any difference with their Victrola or Crosley turntables :)

I paid the retail 30 EUR when this was released in 2023 and I'm happy with it. Do not feed the scalper's greed, and do not worry if you can only afford the Chinese pressing - you will be very fine, with a very nicely manufactured release (you can find pictures online: an actual hype sticker and not the ugly RSD one, some kind of OBI sticker, an outer personalized protective plastic cover, and better looking records).

Go get China pressing. Tbh $300 just for this record that made 100k copies it’s ridiculous. The quality of pressing these days aren’t much different, also the meet me behind the mall China Pressing is really good quality. The scalpers are mad right now lol. Save your $300 and buy folklore variants or extremely rare vinyl from other artists are ways more worth it.
