Reviews

9.8/10 pressing. At first i was scared to get this from reading the reviews here but I still bit the bullet for the colors and damn I was suprised on how excellent the sound quality is. Literally little to no surface noise on the quiet part, the bass is punchy and the highs are very clean, no sibilance AT ALL.

For comparison, the sound quality of side A of my standard black pressing is very good, surface noise on the quiet parts but not too distracting. but Side B on the other hand, it is full of surface noise the sibilance on each track (starting from Savior Complex) is very distracting. In fact, the sibilance drags out until the the last track, which is... weird.

The QC of her albums is definitely hit or miss, if you somehow got a nice copy, consider yourself lucky.

Sound quality seems worse than spotify. Nice illustrated lyric booklet, though.

Well, I got one of the restock and mine came without the print. It sucks. Beautiful vinyl tho.

As a gen xer way too old to have any right to be listening to Phoebe Bridgers, I'll throw my hat in the ring to say this album is fantastic. Got my copy from the restock on her bandcamp... dead quiet, holographic imaging. Some surface noise here and there that disappeared after a cleaning. Bob Ludwig dude... Zeppelin to this?? Dark, perfect sounding pressing of this dark, perfect album. (Gerrard/DL-103/McIntosh/Zu)

Just got my copy from the restock and the lyric booklet is so so beautiful. Luckily, my copy doesn't have any major sound issues and the color of the pressing is magnificent. Glad I decided to pick this one up!

                  10/10.
A perfectly emotional and meaningful album with great high moments of bliss and low moments of hopelessness. The cinematic and musical references are perfectly placed and homaged. Finally, the last song and outro is absolutely gorgeous. It's that of an apocalypse, with a slow-building intensity, triumphant key change, and raw screaming. The end makes me cry; it's beautiful. Also, I’ve probably listened to this album 20 times now.

ALBUM ARTWORK: Absolutely tremendous artwork. Bridgers is iconically in her skeleton costume, looking into the sky just as her music does, with celestial and astrological themes throughout. The blue and red color scheme, with the black and gray shadows, is not only gorgeous, but it's symbolic of the tone of the music, being a dark, melancholy album, yet with a hit of heartbroken romance and tranquility.

Pressing - i.e. the edition from the Secretly Store as detailed in this entry - is poor. What's the point of doing fancy colored vinyl if it's allowed to sound crap?

My copy happens to be a really nice pressing. Pretty silent (very few pops) and dynamic. Amazing songwriting and production as always from her and the team :)
