I love how this fills my listening room. Shakes the floor honestly and can be a little fatiguing with the bass but if you’re in the mood to rock the house with a version of Sgt. Peppers, this is the one. The mono is still my favorite thought.

Absolutely exquisite pressing and for me a better quality than the Optimal cut. The only downside is the EU pressing has a better colour reproduction of the jacket.... more colour and contrast whereas this looks abit washed out.
If you love the remix as much as i do and it truly does mash the poor old OG stereo to bits, then this pressing is DEFINITIVE -
Blah......ok at best. Bass heavy mix and the vocals are a bit buried. My earlier CD copy sounds 1.5x better than this. Good thing it was cheap. The Giles Martin mix of Revolver was junk as well. I dont understand all the hype for these underwhelming products. I will say the media is dead flat...no warps and very very quiet (slient) so that is nice.

Lamentablemente mi copia en los ultimos dos temas se escucha como un efecto flanger. Que mal por eso.

I have been listening to this album on cassette and through streaming for years now (first heard it on cassette about 20 years ago, if not more). Honestly, this is the best I’ve heard this record sound. It just sounds crystal clear! I don’t know how the original mono press sounds but can’t imagine it sounding more clear and dynamic than this! Highly recommended.

I used to have a green Capitol label vintage press. I didn’t enjoy it. Sounded muddy and the fidelity seemed low. I have heard that original stereo mix always sounded like that.
This stereo remix is a breath of fresh air compared to that. Everything is cleaner and clearer. High clarity and very well balanced.
However, the bass is bloated and doesn’t sound natural. The low frequencies are boosted to a level it affects the overall dynamic range of this album. Overall, while this remix is much more crisper, there is a sterile wash over it.
Vocals are upfront and Ringo’s drum lines finally got the proper treatment (brought up in the mix to make it much more audible).

Edited one year agoHow to find out this release is Not Mastered At – Optimal Media GmbH – BH71657 besides Matrix etched to make sure this is the release stated on this page ? Is there any other way or different info stated somewhere ? Thank you.

In another 50 years, this 50th Anniversary Edition remix will be the standard version, the one most people are listening to. It's just about perfect, faithful to the mono mix, yet sounding fresh and new. Bass and drums in particular are more crisp and clear, but everything shines through. Great pressing, very quiet, no surface noise, and just top notch packaging all around.

The bass needs to be tamed a bit, but overall, I prefer this remix, and for me, preferring a remix of a Beatles album is rarer than an acetate of "Penny Lane" with that extra bit of trumpet at the end. It combines the best touches from the stereo and mono mixes: the psychedelic separation and greater emphasis on weird sounds of the stereo with the heavy rhythm section and hotter guitars of the mono, as well as "She's Leaving Home" at the intended peppier speed. That song really cannot afford to drag.
