just as others said below but also becasue it plays at 45rpm givng it a distinct advantage in of sound quality as more frequencies are able to be preserved when mastered/pressed at that speed.

I have a promo version which appears to be identical except for coming in a generic GLR sleeve with 'Promotional Copy' printed under the GLR logo.

Edited 2 years agoWow. 30 years since the release date of Demon's Theme & A Couple Of Beats in 1992... you have to salute LTJ for these masterpieces.
Demon's Theme was way, way ahead of the game. Yeah, it's sample heavy - ambient, techno, acid influences... but everything works creating a deep trippy vibe. Jesus, back then people were making bucks from sampling kids TV (Sesame Street, Trip To Trumpton).
I the first occasion I heard Demon's Theme, it was totally different to anything else out there at the time. Wonderful stuff & a killer track in it's own right.
A Couple Of Beats is also A+++. This is the definition of a roller... Long heavy, chopped beats with a sweet jazzy breakdown. Another 10/10 track.
Battered, cooked, rinsed by any DJ who knew their stuff, big or small.
Demon's Theme is used in 'The Jackal' movie from 1997 with Bruce Willis. Hitting the big time...
Awesome release. Smooth as waves, deep as the ocean. End of review.

I fell in love with Demon's Theme at the tail end of 91 and 30 years on I still love it to the bone. That intro melts me. Every time

The first dated play i've been able to find of Demon's Theme is at Universe 'Adventures On Pleasure Planet' on 19/06/1992.
The first dated play i've been able to find of A Couple Of Beats is at Seduction - LTJ Bukem Volume 1 @ Seduction, Margate on 30/08/1992

How does this remastered version sound up against the 2000 repress (and was that also a remaster)? The fact is that the original is not the finest sounding version of the tunes, much as I've loved it ;)

Demon's Theme obviously getting all of the plaudits it thoroughly deserves but for me this 12" was always about 'A Couple of Beats'.
