Etta James – At Last!

This DOL pressing is awful, save your money. DOL should be renamed DOA, because it was dead on arrival. Lesson learned.

Distracting "whomp" or "thwomp" bass thump intermittently through out both sides. Not rhythmic or in sync with the song. It occurs during every song and intermittently through every track. Cleaned the album multiple times with a brush and still present. Thinking of asking for a replacement. Purchased 2/18/25.

Purchased this to replace my well used copy. I was initially impressed by the SQ until I noticed an intrusive low frequency woosh sound intermittently throughout the tracks. Prefer the crackel and pop from my old copy .It went back to the record shop.

Stellar mastering and pressing, except for the last few seconds of ‘At Last’, where a tearing / whooshing sound comes in as the stylus starts to make its way to the runout groove.

Outstanding pressing sounds so good. Etta James voice was made for vinyl because it’s just incredible.

Sound is ok but her voice is much more powerful on other pressings (waxtime in colour 2018 EU blue, jackpot 2016)

Surprisingly good sound from this pressing, I compared to the jackpot records version. On the jackpot records master, everything sounds very clean and controlled, excellent clarity. On this one, her voice is more forward and WARM, also I have the impression that the bass is stronger. Everything sounds a little bit more vintage and romantic.
