Cadet

Profile:

Chicago, Illinois label associated with records issued by the Chess.
Originally named Argo (2).
For counterfeit editions and other unofficial versions of its releases, please see Cadet (4).
In January 1969 the Chess label and the subsidiaries were bought by MCA Records, Inc.

The use of original Argo cover art on reissues can be found through the late 1970s and should be documented properly.
The initial label was blue fading to white. In 1971 the design changed to yellow with a red or pink perimeter and bar.
Appears on most releases as simply Cadet accompanied by the Chess logo.
