This (2014) album was rare and out of print. it was reissued. the original press and the reissue are almost identical. if you talmbout target or amazon or posting about a copy you bought in 2022, it should be obvious you have the repress. unscrupulous sellers have been selling the repress as the original since it's release. please your releases and post under the appropriate discogs entry.
you should be able to find your copy here:

Hozier is probably my favorite new artist in the last 4-5 years. (I’m late to the party) This man’s voice is soulful and full of heart. I’m glad I have all of his records on vinyl. This pressing is better on disc 2 than 1. Disc one is a bit disappointing, I am going to run it through my record cleaner and see if it helps. I will update my review if it does. I see others have had success so I will still highly recommend.

Edited one year agoMy copy had a lot of background noise, but after a few plays it mostly cleared up. Overall, the sound is crisp and not overly compressed. Very dynamic!

Unlike others: my copy is an incredible listening experience. It's often the record I put on to get people hooked on starting LP collections themselves.
I got it from a crate at my local shop, so I am unsure how it was treated beforehand. I thoughoughly cleaned my copy before listening.
It sounds like there may have been a pressing issue during the run. -
Some recent comments on here should look at the MRP repress that's listed separately. If you have MRP in the runout, or Made in Czech Republic on the back, then it is a MRP/GZ pressing that is newer than this original release.

Dynamic sounding pressing but it’s riddled with horrible surface noise and whooshing throughout. It ruins the listening experience for me. Quality control is absolute trash these days. It’s very disappointing

I just one of the new batch that was just available on Amazon for $19. Feel bad for the people who paid up to our even more than $100 a few months ago. It sounds amazing I think. Counter to prior reviews saying that it's not well mastered for vinyl, I don't know. It sounds very good on my system. As far as being quiet, don't really get that either. I have my volume set at its usual level and it rocks the room. Using Rega P3 with Hana SH cartridge, Moon LP110 phono stage, Schiit Freya preamp, Acurus A250 power amp, B&W 703s

My copy plays great, Fluance RT85 with AT 540 micro line stylus (for that guy that cares entirely too much?). Maybe a slightly quiet pressing which is weird because it’s certainly not cramped with only 3-4 tracks per side… But no discernible issues during playback for me, so I’ll just bump the volume a few clicks

Nothing wrong with the physical pressing of this album. Wax is quiet. No significant pops or clicks, surface noise, etc. Unfortunately it's just a very flat sounding record. Definitely NOT mastered for vinyl. It's a shame too. Great music with real potential when properly mixed for the format. This mix is just really inconsistent from one song to the next and just sounds really muddy throughout all of the middle ranges. Sounds substantially better on CD.
