This Blu-ray disc contains the over-compressed Sterling remasters. Brickwalled sound and a waste of time. The 2018 SACD/CD from MoFi is by far the best this album has ever sounded.

Edited 4 years agoMy copy will not play in DTS-HD Master Audio. Comes in and out, then completely stops playing. No problem with 2.0 PCM and Dolby TrueHD. Not sure what the issue is. Gotta be the disc as other blu ray audio's seem to be fine.

Blu-Ray Audio Disc are the most incredible thing for Hi-Fi aficionado's since the Half Speed Master Vinyl - only without crackles and pops. I currently own 7 titles in this new format that, hopefully with last! While DVD-Audio has had it right to flaunt a bit, it cannot do 96khz on 5.1 surround discs while, Blu-Ray can hold up to 50gig of information; making it's audible range possible up to a whopping 196khz! Vinyl cannot even dare to do 128khz.
With that said, I have listened to the 24kt Gold CD of this album, as well as a crisp, great condition vinyl. Neither even come close to comparing to the clarity of "Gone Hollywood" on Blu-Ray Audio Disc. (There is no video to these, just a menu and Audio.... pure, pleasurable audio.) I've heard things in this album I've never heard before and, that alone excites me about the possibilities of Blu-Ray Audio - should the format survive the trial-phase.
