A very good example of the type of horrible pressings from digital studio original recordings that caught on in the 80s to create wholely unnatural and inauthentic dynamics. IGD all over the place is blatant on vinyl with its overprocessing with gate (the huge trend back then), smothered EQ, and effects . So it's not your stylus that's at fault. This album was recorded with the intention of being played at high volumes. Undoubtedly, the mids and highs were recorded very, very hot, with lows being thoroughly inconsistent. But, when you turn this on low volume, its subpar engineering and mastering is unmistakable. Should be entirely remixed and remastered.

INXS "Kick" remains one of my favorite albums from the 80's. 4 Top 10 Hits. Still a good one to play today! Great stuff.
