This thing needed a THOROUGH cleaning since it had a metric assload of surface noise, but once you've given it a nice cleaning, the mastering on this thing is quite nice and really shines through. -
Edited 8 months agoOverall nice sound/mastering, but it's dirty and you can hear a lot surface noise. It's still worth having and the album itself is a great piece of music.
edit: After listening to this several times I can wholeheartedly say that it's real fuckin dirty. -
My first time listening to a Lana album and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My rating is more for the release than the album. While the artwork is great, the pressing itself clearly reflects some production issues. As others have said, there was clear unfilled spaces and relentless static sounds on the first play. I wet cleaned before listening and could hardly tell. It wasn’t unlistenable like some copies, but I think the color pressings are probably more worth the money. -
lana always has this way of haunting me with her voice and her stories. so incredibly personal but walks that fine line where she’s still able to make the listener feel every word, thought and intention lana wants to convey

Still can't believe that 2/3 of records of LDR will have surface noise, bad sound quality or a lot of dust - or a combination of all three. This is yet another case of that. Please drop me in the comments below where can I find her clean, amazing-sounding LPs. -
I can only partially agree with the previous speakers. Yes, it's true that both records were very dirty - that's actually not possible and shows that there apparently are no quality controls anymore. Otherwise I have to say that it is a very good mastering. The records are all flat and I can't detect any background noise. Unfortunately, a few clicks can also be heard on my copy. I think it's the record in my collection with the deepest bass. -
quite a bit of noise and clicks, I expected the worst. but side A is completely off-center, and is unlistenable which is sad, cause there are some of the best tracks on the record(

Edited one year agoMy copy, terrible initially on record 1 side A, wet clean and several play through's sorted it out, some non-removable clicks after clean, R1 side B. Not ideal. Record 2 side A, played OK, just a couple of light clicks, side B OK ish, some light instances of noise. -
Edited one year agoThe regular black pressing is the worst vinyl record i ever experienced. Beside the crackles and pops (even after proper cleaning), the grooves of my copy are not concentric with the hole. It makes my tone arm swinging back and forth on side a. This causes at some point an out of tune piano during A&W. I ordered the green pressing and hope this one will be better than the regular black.
