Does anyone know how many copies were pressed in this variant?

Exquisite, sophisticated, raunchy, deep and raw. Lana’s personal take on America is perfectly pitched. I have this lavender record set, it is flawless, one of the best-produced records in my collection. There are a few tracks where Lana almost whisper-sings (Candy Necklaces, Kintsugi) the sound quality is stunning. These are just two lovely tracks amongst many other gems. There are a few Lana records now, where I have said to myself, “this is the best one”. Do You Know Tunnel is a staggering achievement and not alone in its greatness as a Lana album. It’s great she creates her work exactly as she wants, I hope it continues.

Spread over two records it is an epic collection, with a wide range of soundscapes. For instance, when I first heard the Judah Smith Interlude, I thought wtf? But I did get it, Judah (infamous / famous in America for his right wing tirades, look him up) is preaching, and in the background Lana is sniggering and whispering with a friend, like back-row pupils. Apparently some groups were incensed at having to endure his preachings on a Lana record. Come on, we’ve been listening to Lana for more than a decade now, enough to understand the Lana-defining, weird friction in her music and lyrics – an incisive, cold, sarcastic, ironic stance – thickly coated in American beauty. At first you can be excused for not getting it, but not after twelve years. She’s been steadfastly doin’ it since Born to Die. Strong, brave, sad, beautiful, even twisted. Lana’s world is a weird trippy cocktail. “Baby, if you wanna leave. Come to California, be a freak like me, too”.

The Judah Smith “Interlude”, is exactly that – punctuation between songs. It’s not even a song, it’s a bit of (very) American noise, with pointed references and, taken in context with the rest of the album, creates Lana’s take on America at a particular time. This is raw issues with a deceptive music gloss and the fashionista visuals to boot. At the moment she is one of the best at this kind of thing. The Judah Smith song isn’t even recorded well; you know that’s intentional because the rest of the album is recorded perfectly. [Did she sneak a tape deck into church, how the hell did she even get permission to use it? . . . ]. Smith’s sermon and Lana & Co’s sniggering is muffled at points. It irritated me at first, what’s it there for? I wanted to know exactly what they are saying . . . Lana is strong on lyrics and I want to fully understand the lyrics to her work. But perhaps it is supposed to be like this and it goes back to the title of the ‘song’: it’s just an interlude. (Is what Smith says important, probably more important is that some listen . . . ). Is it dangerous to talk about things like this?

Look at me, writing most of this about an interlude. Where the true songs on the album are sooooo much better. That’s a cockup. But, well, context, and punctuation, it’s all important. Oh well. I’m going to go back and listen to the AW now.

my copy sounds pristine if im being honest, production sounds punchy and there's no crackles or noticeable surface noise.

Realizing months after owning this vinyl that there’s some of the center label from another label stuck on to the grooves of A&W. Guess I’ll buy a new copy lol

I think I'm few of the unlucky ones because my copy has lots of cracks and pops on all four sides (after cleaning the record, cleaning the needle etc.)

I bought this via resale, everything sounds perfect and so is the color! Sadly during "the grants" there's loud pops. I've heard this is very common with this pressing. But every other song is absolutely perfect, no pops or surface noise at all. I would recommend buying this officially from amazon just incase you deal with pops as well:)

I have all 6 editions of this album on vinyl (white, two Black editions, pink-purple, green and red). Compared by sound. For me, the best sound is in white and pink-purple, they are the cleanest, without unfilled places, without noise. The noisiest are the two black vinyls editions - Like wood in a fireplace. Green and red vinyls have a lot of unfilled places, this can be clearly heard between tracks. I recommend white vinyl and pink-purple vinyl (from Amazon Exclusive) to Your collection. You will enjoy from listening these two vinyls editions.

Pops and cracks throughout with a slightly muffled sound quality. Not the worse quality pressing but I do expect better from a bigger artist who pushes multiple variants.

This sounds great to me, I got lucky getting a clean copy with no defects or damage. Well balanced mixing, no distortion or clipping to my ears. I love the lilac color, looks unique rather than the proposed baby pink mockup.
