sounds great and no noise on my copy, nice cover and label repros, and a great lp musically, its LOADED!
-
Nice mastering; crap pressing. Tons of ticks/pops and maybe non fill (can't really tell with the clear vinyl) across both sides. 2x cleaning on VCM and ultrasonic did not improve things. Not recommended.

Edited one year agoIf there is such a thing as a “fun” Velvets record, this is it. This 2023 clear vinyl pressing sounds so damn good, you can really hear the layers of the different instruments incredibly well. Every sound just jumps out of the speakers. The music is carefree and still kinda crazy, and it really seems to have inspired some early ‘70s Bowie. The performances may not be super technical, or even close to perfect pitch, but it’s so cool that I say, who cares? Loosen up from your music conservatory ways and dig the vibes baby. Not really any liner notes on this press, just know there’s more Doug Yule lead vocals here than you’d think, but Lou loved that the two of them sounded so similar. Listen closely and you may notice Lou has a bit more rawness and don't-give-a-damn in his delivery, while Yule is a bit smoother in his delivery. Mo Tucker is absent due to maternity leave, so three other drummers filled in on various tracks. This also creates a very different feel to this VU album. This is my only press of this album. Found it at a local record store for $26 in January 2023. I don't think I need any other version of this album. This pressing does the trick for me.

A stunning sounding remaster. Each instrument is prominent and clear. Vocals sounds as if they are right in front of you. Highly recommend! Wether it is digital or analog captured doesn't matter, at least it is not the same remaster they do for CD, but for Vinyl explicitly. 5/5, Highly recommended!

Dead quiet vinyl. It’s so silent that I finally stop taking sleeping pils to sleep. I just put on this record and start dreaming. Usually good dreams, too.

Absolutely lovely pressing, ing for both color and audio quality.
Not to mention including the extended cuts for most the songs, even though that seems to be how the album is packaged nowadays but still it's definitely a plus worth mentioning. -
Rhino are generally the good guys when it comes to reissues but don't usually make a song and dance about their remastering, even when they use the original analog tapes (see their John Coltrane My Favourite Things re-release when they didn't care to mention this fact or that Kevin Gray did the remastering on their Hype sticker) so no idea what source was used here. Vinyl sounds great and good to have the longer version of Sweet Jane. But as it's clear vinyl I just couldn't read what was etched in the run out groove. Can anyone shed some light?

This pressing sounds absolutely gorgeous - probably as good as this recording will ever sound on the format, in my opinion.
A superb mastering, along with a perfect pressing equals an awesome listening experience. A must own. -
This is a really good pressing Side B has some skipping for me but if I change some settings on my turntable it plays super well..
