#013520 here. Picked this up in the budget bin at my local record store on Record Store Day this year for $60 was my 3rd best purchase
Nuggets box set and black keys were 1 and 2 -
It sounds absolutely wonderful (clear, wide and warm… no noise/no cracks) and hearing them “jamming” in studio is for me the most exciting way to enjoy The Doors (after attending a life concert of course! They were also jamming / improvising on stage) I have bought my box a “fortune” 119€ on RSD in a shop… worths every penny!

Really phenomenal pressing, from both a sound perspective and as a record of history. It’s a quintessential Doors experience because it’s unlike any other vinyl experience you’ll have. A true fly-on-the-wall vibe that makes for a unique listening experience
-
Must have release for any Doors fans! Sounds nice and clean, great dynamics.
Few things i need to mention: The LP3 centre hole is waaaaay too tight. LP5 labeled as LP4.

Anyone else have 2 side 6 labels on their 3rd disc? No label for side 5? I have a feeling someone has two side 5 labels on their third disc. Would that be considered a misprint, worthy of a separate entry?
-
Besides owning this copy, is there any interest in already owning the 40th and 50th anniversary editions? Are there additional sessions missing from these two editions?

Edited 2 years agoThe hype sticker is lying: No "L'America" at all, no development as to "Hyacinth House" and countless repetitions of the other songs, false starts etc. Yeah, they were professional and wonderful musicians. However, despite me thinking that "L. A. Woman" is their best LP, this is quite superfluous. You can tell, they were aiming for the perfect version, so these are all high quality attempts at achieving something that is better documented elsewhere. To me, "L. A. Woman: The Workshop Sessions" are much more interesting, since there you have at least full alternate versions. I can't get excited about Jim Morrison barking "Song XY, take 11" into the microphone.
-
Amazing pressing! I also already have the Soft Parade Stripped and Morrison Hotel Sessions from RSD releases. All of them sounds fantastic and worth every penny. Essentials items for any Doors fan out there.
-
Great purchase. This sounds beautiful. Some of the completed tracks sound as good or better than the actual album version (and I am comparing to the Analogue Productions 45 RPM release.
