Great songs - apart from tracks 2 & 3 - but iffy mastering. It’s not unlistenable but if you haven’t bought this and are thinking about it - save your money.

This is a review of the quality of the vinyl. The pressing is flat and has minimal noise. The sound quality is similar to many modern masterings. It is not audiophile quality but the bass extension is good. The highs are are compressed but still pleasant. The dynamics of the music are good and not too compressed. The music is faithful to what ABBA has been known for. They are in their seventies so there are no number one hits here but a pleasant listen for fans.

My copy sounds pretty darn good compared to the other reviews, even for it arriving warpped and package damaged from shipping (I got a replacement coming already). It sounds good on my setup and I only cleaned the record once. One of my complaints is I wish those photo cards had more variations than just the one. As for the music its self. It sounds like ABBA and I love it. It's nice to know one of the tracks (Just a Notion) was a outtake from an older project. Also the two main singles where produced in 2017.

Edited 3 years agoI love the old ABBA albums, so I jumped on the hipe train too.
Well, unfortunately the mastering is a bit dissapointing. Not as good as the old albums, and then you think, there would be some kind of inprovement in the recording technichs. Perhaps the CD or flacs are better.
The music. Ok, I can't sing, but where is the power of the two girls voices gone? I'm not sure, if this reunion is good for more than making money, as much as I loved the ídear of a new ABBA album, but then I hoped it would be like the old ones. To be fair, everybody gets older. I don't know if this is a reason for this: in my oppinion on all but one track (I can be that woman) the instruments are too loud in comparison to the voices. -
a very bad, undynamic sound. Buy the CD. This time the record has only collector's value. However, pressing is very quiet. Fantastic Songs!

A bit of a noisy pressing! Even after cleaning. Especially in the quiet parts. And it’s a bit wobbly to. But what can you expect this album is so massively produced.

Edited 3 years agoGreat album!
But the mastering of the vinyl is average. It’s missing highs and it is quite muddy. Abbey road half speed mastering creates a lot of average output lately. A shame, for such a big release. -
Feels like we waited ages for this (40 years 🙄) but on a whole it’s nice, it’s not taxing, just sound like older material that were not massive hits, I can tell you it will be an album you could relax too, the vinyl is a good pressing, I would have liked it on 180g but it’s still good, more translucent than expected. Enjoy guys/gals.
