Bad pressing. I thought it’s my copy, but reading other reviews, this is a serial production issue. Lot of crackling and noise in quite sections. Dissapointing for such a great album. Will have to listen to the digital copy.

I have this black USA (BMG) version and it has lot of click and surface noise. Don't know which factory pressed since there is no information. Ultrasonic washed and still remain the same. Chris Bellman did a good job in this album. I guess the EU version is better since I have other IM album pressed by Optimal Gmbh.

Anyone have any information about where the US BMG label of Senjutsu was pressed at? I know Parlophone label was pressed at Optimal Media in .

Edited 3 years agoI have this version in black. Fantastic pressing, no noise, clean and smooth. I'm a long-time fan who lost interest in their 90s stuff and just kept on listening to their stuff up to Seventh Son over and over. I listened to the digital version of Senjitsu for a while, and the album slowly grew on me, and now, after more focused listening - love it (very reluctantly). So much attention to detail. Sure, but the question is: does it speak to you? It does. Maybe in part it's because of the occasional motifs reminiscent of the 1980s work :) I Especially Death of the Celts. I also went back to Brave New World and I see I've been too hard on their recent work. Sounds real - they still have a vision and ion (and undiminished skill) for their music. Vinyl version more full and punchy than the digital. Good mixing. Nico's kit sounds so awesome. Love the snare. Steve Harris's bass lines connected to your nerves - yess. Oh, and these hunks of vinyl are the thickest I've ever seen. They are like two 180s melded together, and there are three of them. Not messing around I guess.

Edited 3 years agoSpeaking just about record quality, I bought this 3lp black and a red/marble version because of the collector in me, but I ended up returning the red/marble because there was a ton of surface/static noise throughout all record. The black version I received does have kinda normal crackles here and there, but overall sounds pretty good, is fairly quiet, and sounds nothing like the red/marble which is just like just a solid consistent static noise throughout all 3 records.
If you're gonna be picking up the vinyl, I would recommend the black over the red. -
old maiden fan.
A lot of there stuff seems now to be hand swaying ballads for the whole family. I guess goes down well live but I miss the
pre 7th son stuff. Im now off to look back through their stuff to compile a good play list -
I haven't bought an Iron Maiden album since 1984. It was nice coming back. Love this album. Now going into what I have missed all these years.

I have no problem with keyboard, in fact I love them. But honestly this just sound terrible. Harris needs to cede a bit of control and just employ a session musician for these parts.
I think I'm in the minority with the artwork which looks pants.

Good album! Thick and flat vinyl. Songs are nice and well written. Although this is not 80s Maiden, so don’t expect the quality to be on the same level… Kevin Shirley isn’t Martin Birch. Everything sounds a bit muddy and somewhat compressed. Steve’s bass is loud and sometimes overtakes other instruments. But it’s still good. Highlights: Hell on Earth, Lost in a Lost World and Writing on the Wall.
I’m happy that these oldies are still putting an album out there so we can all enjoy, even with some of its flaws.
