Iron Maiden – Senjutsu

Bad pressing. I thought it’s my copy, but reading other reviews, this is a serial production issue. Lot of crackling and noise in quite sections. Dissapointing for such a great album. Will have to listen to the digital copy.

No longer attractive
We heard all that back in Dance of Death and since then it only became more and more slow, epic and uninteresting. There are maybe a couple of things here which won't get you bored unless you're a masochist person. But don't you ever ever touch Disc 2. You are forewarned.

I first bought the US press (BMG) black vinyl and all three LPs were full of noise, with constant clicks, ticks and distortion. I’m not sure which plant pressed that version but it was unlistenable. Did a wet clean, nothing changed.

Returned it and got this European (Parlophone) black vinyl version instead, pressed at Optimal. Day and night difference. Virtually silent, no ticks or pops. This may not be the best sounding Maiden album/mix, but this version is the best way to experience it.

This stark difference between US and European pressings is really annoying.

Decided to get the CD of this album, I had listened to it digitally when it came out but not much stuck with me at the time. After seeing their recent Future Past tour and 4 songs played live that sounded good, I wanted to revisit it. LP seemed too expensive and awkward to listen to. Production is similar to the their recent releases. Songwriting is a touch above Book Of Souls, decent 1st CD, but 2nd half is very long, laborious, and unmemorable. Death of the Celts seemed better live than it did on record. I have most Iron Maiden on LP except for Blaze years, Book of Souls, and this one, doubt I will revisit it much.

Very cheaply made for its high price . When it comes to wooden box versions nothing come close to Deutschland Viva Hate Records and Prophecy Productions

Sounds dull and mushy. His Voice is low volume and seems far away. Worst at stratego.(Stylus: AT VM-95sh).
Compared it to the HiRes on Qobuz.
This 96khz version sounds much more dynamic and clear.
Very disappointing!

Anyone know how to get a hold of the right booked now?

I have this black USA (BMG) version and it has lot of click and surface noise. Don't know which factory pressed since there is no information. Ultrasonic washed and still remain the same. Chris Bellman did a good job in this album. I guess the EU version is better since I have other IM album pressed by Optimal Gmbh.

Just picked this up at Wal-Mart for 15 bucks on clearance. Possibly due to the cuts on the front of the jacket more than likely caused by a careless box cutter. Besides that, the records sound great so I`m not going to complain about the cover. 15 is much better than 60 plus It will be put in a plastic outer sleeve anyways.
