Paul And Linda McCartney* – Ram

Picked this up for $5 NM recently because I could just not up the deal. It sounds every bit as good a US original Apple and it has a flat dead quiet surface. In the song "Ram On" for example the horns in one channel pop out and the layers of vocals are each clearly heard. Don't overlook these Capitol reissues that some sell cheap because they aren't Apples. I also got a McCartney S/T for the same deal and it's recommended too.

I thought my mind was playing games with me. There is an incredible soundstage to this record. There is atmosphere and a punch that I have yet hear on any RAM pressing. The bass shakes and is amazing. No smiley face effect however. The vocals and acoustics are warm. Very very very excellent record and I recommend picking up while it’s still available!

Good old album. Sounds nice to me. Has that creamy tape, analogue vibe that doesn't always tend to stand out on more slick productions. Not that it isn't well produced. I reckon I'd have been a much bigger fan if he'd done a lot more stuff like this. But you don't often get struck by lightning in the same place twice. I guess he moved on.

i don't care. paul mccartney needs his ass eaten for this. someone online said this is the first indie pop album. sounds based to me. every time i hear the intro to monkberry moon delight the hair on the back of my neck stands up and i literally start levitating. heart of the country makes me want to raise livestock. i know my crops would flourish if i listened to this album during the harvest.

Nice and warm. A bit of distortion towards the end of Back Seat of My Car. But overall it sounds great. Stomps on the recent half speed mastered vinyl which I find a bit brighter. This one is more pleasant to the ears.

It’s plenty dynamic but the inner groove distortion is terrible on both sides.

This is a pretty good sounding master though its a bit thin. Also there's a tape drop out on the first Ram On (not the shorter reprise). Kinda sucks not gonna lie, its not just a blip it might be a 2 whole seconds. I'd honestly avoid this one and get the most recent master OR the amazing Archive Collection set which I have s of. The mono mix is a bit better imo.

Is this the real mono mix or is it just a fold down?

In spite of it having a Capitol label, this is a -1 -1 press and sounds amazing.
