Danny Elfman – Beetlejuice (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

This release is pretty disappointing - low volume and TONS of hiss and pops on both sides.

Purchased Jan 27 from Amazon for $14, record arrived clean and flat. Guess I lucked out, my copy has no surface noise and a rare pop or two. Unfortunately this pressing sounds flat and lifeless, like trying to listen through a closed door. Unless you definitely need the original poster art sleeve, the Waxwork releases are the ones to get.

This is so funny because with the CD sampler are they trying to persuade you to buy the album on CD? And when the whole movie is already available to them in this package? You might as well just include the soundtrack

I really like this vinyl color even though it doesn’t match the description 1:1 imo. This pressing is flat - unfortunately my copy has some pops on its‘ B side but I’ve heard worse. I’d still prefer this to the latest WW pressing.

Well the good news is it looks just like the original 1988 pressing and looks great. The bad news is the unbelievable amount of surface noise. My copy was flat and super clean but holy snap, crackle, and pop. I’ll run it through the ultrasonic but won’t make much of a difference on this, it’s just a crap pressing. Sound wise not that great either but definitely would be listenable without the surface noise. I’m keeping it because I love that it’s original artwork and is one of my favorite soundtracks that I will spin.

I already own the Waxworks pressing and let me tell you this one beats it by far. As a lifelong fan of Burton/Elfman and in the wake of the sequel I had to make sure to get my hands on the original of this soundtrack - and I wasn’t let down. 36 years and still flat and silent …literally just recently deceased.

I think this soundtrack album was produced wrong. I would have placed Day-O at the end of Side 1 and start Side 2 with The Incantation. There is too much of a time frame on Side 2. Just like the soundtrack to The Howling...i think Fur From The Madding Crown should have been at the end of Side 1 since again that there is too much of a time frame to fit on Side 2.

Unfortunately mine came with two small but deep scratches on the first track of side B even though it was brand new and sealed. But 5 stars for the soundtrack ofc and my copy is flat and silent.

Who doesn’t love “Beetlejuice” and this soundtrack? It’s perfect, quintessential Danny Elfman and one of the best pairings between him & Tim Burton.
As for the record, no sound issues whatsoever, great pressing although the track listing is off a bit.
Beautifully put together by Waxwork and I’m glad they rereleased it.

Very good pressing. No major issues with my pressing. It’s a must own for Elfman fans!^^
