No Doubt – Tragic Kingdom

Purchased from Amazon in May 2025, this release doesn't suffer from many of the reported problems of previous re-pressings. Each side contains nearly 30 minutes of music, so the pressing level is pretty low, bass seems like it's dialed down a tiny bit as compared to the streaming versions. Vinyl is not noisy and music is fairly compressed. It's a competent pressing but in short, there's not much reason to grab this on vinyl. It was made for the CD format and will shine best there.

Tragic Kingdom is one of my favourite albums and very nostalgic for me, but are we ever going to get a good pressing of this? It just sounds very flat and compressed. I also had the center hole issue on my copy. We need a 2xLP of this classic album.

Was always wondering what the first pressing was like (quality-wise), since almost every latter vinyl version sounds terrible (and I've at least tasted most of them). A definite pity for such an excellent piece of music not to have received a proper vinyl treatment.

Great album, but the vinyl pressings have been notoriously poor. This one is no different. This is the least deadwax I’ve ever seen on a record, as the music is cut right up against the label. Supremely quiet mix requires cranking, however the record is dirty and sounds poor when cranked. Glad to own it, still wish they’d do it justice.

Absolutely love this album and one of my favorite ever. Nice sleeve but the master is purely bad.. it’s still enjoyable but I don’t see the point of listening to it on record as it’s not that great.. The fact that it’s also one lp doesn’t help with roughly 29 minutes on each sides. Hoping for some kind of remaster one day (even though I (no) doubt it since the og masters burned..
I don’t regret buying it for collection purposes as no doubt is one of my favorites bands and it’s still enjoyable but I don’t think that it’ll really worth it considering the prices

Sounds okay considering it's an hour of music on a single LP. Definitely not audiophile quality. The original masters were destroyed in a fire, so I'm not sure we're ever going to get an excellent remaster of this one sadly.

Is anyone planning on adding the Baby Blue Spotify Exclusive /1000 2024 release?

Meh sound. Ok for streaming or if you’re a teenager. I expected better.
