Does anyone happen to have a good photo or scan of the lyric sheet? I bought a used copy the other day and it was not included (SAD!)...please message me if you can help...

referencing Ignite The Seven Cannons (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Gatefold) FLT183
It's incredible to which degree this version finally is inferior to the original one. Even with the Robin Guthrie production that resulted in a somewhat muddled sound, the remixed versions never get close to the charme and the feel of the original ones. Only six of the songs were re-mixed anyway. The great instrumental "Serpent Shape" was re-moved (from side 2) for unknown reasons, and the now glossy cover is a major disappointment too, because it leaves the backside nearly empty (?). All in all the original cardboard texture was way more stylish and appropriate. I nearly forgot, but the lyric sheet from the original edition is not included as well... So, if you love the original band Felt you probavbly should avoid thi re-issue, which is a total letdown.

Edited 11 months agoThe official website says that each album in the series is released in 2000 copies. Series contains 10 albums and each copy was signed, meaning that Lawrence had to sign twenty thousand copies. How is this even possible?

"The instrumental track 'Serpent Shade' has been removed so that the tracklisting is evenly-numbered."
Lawrence reached a whole new height of stupidity with this release. -
bought this amongst others when i was visiting glasgow.. serendipitous moment. could not wait to listen to it once i got home. was hugging the bag of vinyls for the whole flight back.
i have just played it for the first time and much to my dismay, i was met with countless jumps and pops. side B is fine, not overly smooth or fantastic, but it’s fine. however, almost every song on side A was jumping and skipping every few seconds… really upsetting.
i assume it must be some sort of manufacturing issue, but i’m not sure.. i’ve only ever experienced this with one other lp before.. which i was able to return back to a local store. but i suppose i’m just stuck with this poor copy now. i am glad that atleast not every song is jumpy, but it’s still such a shame. -
It was a bit naff that Lawrences signature was on a sticker that you'd have to remove from the shrink to open the box. Luckily, the stickers came off easily

Edited 10 months agoCurious what the difference between this variant and https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/383284-Felt-Ignite-The-Seven-Cannons-And-Set-Sail-For-The-Sun is.

Some don’t like Robin Cocteau Twin Guthrie’s production on this, however I like the sound. It’s quite trebly but to me evokes the silver and golden colours of autumn, particularly on primitive painters where the music swells to a glorious wave of sound. Some of the instrumentals are lovely. Beautiful.

Edited 5 months agoI like the remastering and the remix, vinyl quality is fine, but especially the re-packaging of all of these Felt re-issues is a failure on nearly every level. Contrary to the rough cardboard of the original this one's glossy, the artwork isn't circulating but only on the front, and the sleeve's backside is nearly blank (--- What's the idea?). We also get a useless poster which not even shows an impressive or well-made photograph, therefore the 1985 lyric sheet of the original which also contains information on the musicians and the production is missing. I do have both albums right in front of me, and it is all too easy to see which sleeve is the superior one. How can you miss the mark that far, when you obviously intend to offer a well-made and also high-priced re-issue? And with the removal of the wonderful song "Serpent Shape" from side 2 the whole thing doesn't even make much sense on a level of artistic qualification, because to me (who owns the original for decades) it even sounds and feels incomplete now. A major disappointment!

I’m fortunate to have this and a clean original copy, and I love both. The remixes are quite good here, keeping the spirit of the original while clearing up the gauzy haze that Guthrie added (I love his mixes too though).
The mastering and vinyl pressing are top notch, and hold their own against the original, even if they’re just a touch less full and round sounding.
I do wish they had left Serpent Shade on side two and included the lyric sheet, but oh well.
A worthy investment if you want this on vinyl but can’t get an original copy, or if you want the new mixes of the four tracks and the poster.
Overall a stellar reissue of a classic album.
