Initally released unofficially in very few quantities by Geoffrey Chung, and shortly after in the United States on Jam Sounds. In 1977/1978, the album was released by three labels under the title "Forward On To Zion". Some versions are also titled "Satta".

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If there's a top 10 list of essential Reggae albums. This one should be in it. The Manning Brothers with beautiful songs, accompanied by the cream of the crop musicians.

What a really great album. I was drawn to it by the track Satta Massagana which was performed at the beginning of the movie Rockers, although Island replaced the Abyssinians version with the Third World recording on that soundtrack album. The original album (1st 10 tracks of this release) is one of those evergreen albums that can be listened to again and again. The Heartbeat deluxe CD reissue sounds lovely and you get the benefit of 8 bonus tracks. If you like spiritual reggae this really is a no brainer. 5 Stars.

This release has the same cover as the digital version that is labeled as having the “Original Jamaican Mixes.” Does anyone know if the reissue has the standard mixes or the JA mixes? -

A good way to get this rare album on vinyl. Very good pressing in my opinion. Sounds fantastic. This album is therapy ! Maybe it is the best reggae album ever. Better than the Congo’s.

This is a beautiful looking pressing, with a glossy jacket and nice thick slab of wax. But on first listen, there was a disappointing amount of surface noise, even after a good wipedown. But on second listen, much of that surface noise vanished. Strange. I have no complaints about this pressing, with the exception of "I 'N' I", which is a bit heavy on the bass and a little light on the high end. My copy plays nice and clean with occasional faint surface noise. -

My copy has a tip on jacket. Did later reissues have a tip on jacket? Looks like it's from 1977. Cover has some gloss to it. Inside the sleeve is grayish/tan in color, but lighter than normal cardboard color. It does seem difficult to tell listings apart. -

My copy is mostly clean, only a few tracks with surface noise, other than that there’s no pops or clicks. Great sounding quality all the way from the top end to the bass that is rich. -
