Pressing quality is terrible. Wasted money and I’m very disappointed. Hands off! -
Invested in this coloured vinyl box set. My sealed copy turned up with two copies of the album ABBA and was missing The Visitors... probably an unfortunate one-off issue but poor. Thankfully was able to sort this with the seller. The white vinyl Arrival has distortion on most tracks and this becomes particularly noticeable towards the end of the album. I actually bought a separate white vinyl copy to try to replace and an identical problem, so clearly a bad pressing. Same problem towards the end of The Waterloo album. This is all a great shame because the other albums sound fantastic and the coloured vinyl looks nice. Not sure I can recommend unless you are prepared to stomach the quality control issue and buy a separate standard vinyl copy of Arrival. I think ABBA themselves would not be impressed with the quality control here if they knew. Does your mother know...? -
This entry is sorely lacking information on credits. Someone with a copy: please fill in the credit fields. Tedious, yes, but how else would we get that info?
For instance, which plant pressed this – Optimal in , like the 2020 boxed set w/colored vinyl? Who mastered this box – again, is the matrix information identical to or different than that of the 2020 boxed set?
Sound wise, how does this 2014 version compare with the 2020 box? Or compared with the other boxed set of studio albums (plus a bonus rarities disc) that has drawn mixed reviews, called “The Vinyl Collection”? -
Could anyone confirm how the sound quality compares to the box compares to the collection box from 2010?

I wish they had included a rarities disc. I especially love the bonus tracks in The Visitors. -
really nice set overall but seems incomplete without a coloured vinyl copy of the non-studio tracks(minor gripe)

Absolutely stunning box set! The box is sturdy, and well designed. Overall the 8 records are pressed really well, and have beautiful sound quality. The inner and outer sleeves are gorgeous and printed well. 10/10 this box set is perfect for ABBA fans, or someone (like me) who didn't have any original pressings yet. Love how the colored records coordinate with the album covers. -

Edited 4 years agoApparently the card doesn't come with all releases. There is no mention of a card with my copy. Don't know if that depends on if it's the U.S or Europe issue. If it's not included in all issues, the description should probably be changed to say something along the lines of...may or may not include card. None the less, sounds excellent.
