A beautiful pressing of a beautiful album. Excellent clarity and detail. Picking up things I’ve never heard.

What an achievement by Van Morrison. This pressing sounds incredible.

It doesn't happen super often but sometimes with vinyl you get a record that just sounds larger than life or that really just has this something special in its mix/ master/ pressing. This isn't one of them. It sounds very, very nice don't get me wrong. But it doesn't knock your socks off or transport you to analogue 1970 or really surprise you, if that makes any sense. Obviously it's a great album but I just don't know about the sound. It's lush, but it's lush everywhere all the time maybe. Hard to put into words. I it I have not heard the original 1970 vinyl but I'm going to guess it's maybe more real sounding or that it shines within the limitations of the tech of its time as opposed to the technical miracles that can be worked in the box of today. There are very affordable Australian 1970's pressings. Maybe I'll buy 1 one day to compare. The presentation of this edition is awesome and the record looked tip top out of the sleeve. I did get two minor skips on track 2 and 4 side B first play. But that could have been anything since I only gave the disc a cursory first clean. A little brush and stylus clean on the turntable and it was ok. Record was nice and flat. Maybe I'll edit these first impressions later. The 5 stars are for the music. The sound I'm still giving a 4.

Bought brand new sealed from Amazon. Both 3 discs of my copy are flat and well centered. Both records are not very thick, but the pressing quality is very very good. Both 3 discs are dead silent. The sound is stellar… SW did it again… I cannot imagine a better sounding version than this to be honest. The mixing is very well done, every instrument sound perfect and as its place. It brings some very good details without sounding too forced and thin. Wow! A no brainer. 5/5

In reference to variant 1. A very nice sounding edition. The track's recordings vary in style and quality.
