I'm not hearing any inner groove distortion on my copy. However, there is some slight noise here and there. Thankfully the music is loud and it's hardly noticeable. This pressing does lack punchiness and depth, but it's fine for what it is.

This pressing sounds good. I tend to believe people who say there are better pressings, but it is definitely good. I would be interested in hearing an a/b with a straight analog issue, and I'm not really sure if it's because it's digitally sourced, but it does seem to lack that analog depth. Don't get me wrong though, it does sound very good. I've just started noticing that when I listen to something that's all analog, it grips my attention, and I find myself feeling engrossed in the music, but this one kind of wants to be in the background while I focus on other stuff. I can't really quantify why that is, and it very well could be my imagination or a placebo effect, but as of now that seems to be my experience.
Overall, I'm happy with it and probably won't seek out another version. It's absolutely fine for what it is and the price I paid. -
honestly the most unlistenable piece of junk in my whole collection. the factory quality control is absolutely abysmal - scratches all along both sides causing loud pops and the groove distortion is absolutely abhorrent. i’m aware this may just be a issue with my copy, as there are rave reviews about the sound quality - i couldn’t speak on that matter, this barely gets taken out and played as is.

This is a great record, a perfect example of how a digital reissue can sound incredible. The bass sub frequencies fill the room and cut through your body like your at a show, the mids sound so crunchy (guitars) and vocals cut through the noise. You can hear the highs (high hat and symbols are crisp).
This is a five star album and this reissue is a 5 star product. I usually put this one on to show off my sound stage for a good rock album. -
Edited 9 months agoI don't know why there's some people complaining here. The sound is absolutely killer on this one. I had a hard time cleaning it, but once I did it, wow. Maybe those folks going on about surface noise are experiencing just that extra dust. You have to deep clean it - and no inner groove distortion here either. My system is a Rega Rp1, At440Mla, Onkyo receiver and Klipsch speakers. This sounds gorgeous on tonality and DR.

My copy has some unlistenable groove distortion towards the center of the disc, especially on Surf Wax and Only In Dreams. Honestly a shame as it starts off sounding pretty good.
-
Excellent sounding, but I have one complaint. I don't know why they decided to begin side 2 with Say It Ain't So instead of Surf Wax. Personally, I think Surf Wax would have been a way better opener for side 2, but ok. Bought my copy on SMLXL even though it was cheaper at Target,
