Edited 2 years agoIf you are on the hunt for the best sounding ABBA pressings, look no further - you have stumbled upon this version of the amazing collection of hits from their 8 albums from 1973-1981 mastered to vinyl by the legendary George Piros (“atGP” in all four run-outs).
Side one is excellent, with big bold sound, though at (very) loud levels the vocals can get sizzle-ly and shouty on a few of the first few songs - but not that much an issue at all, as they are still the best versions of the songs I’ve ever heard. Side two the sound is even more amazing, BUT when you get to the the “newer” material from 1979-1981 on sides three and four you are in for a treat! The sound steps up another level to demo sound right off the master tape. Turn it up as loud as you want - there is ZERO distortion - with crisp clear HUGE vocals out front and beautiful room filling sound. I would have to think you will probably NOT find better versions of these songs.
Bonus - the prices of this pressing are still relatively reasonable for clean copies - so grab one before this pressing gets “discovered” and the price gets pushed up! -
