Walking through a Best Buy store in Aventura I found this vinyl, and I couldn't be more than happy, good pressing, quiet, flat and with a very decent sound -

The songs that matter on this really shine, “Private Dancer” absolutely sounds stellar! “I Can’t Stand The Rain” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” round out the very best of side 1. The cover of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” and Tina’s “Better Be Good To Me” start side 2 where side 1 left off. Very happy I picked this up, recommended! -

Mine is excellent as described further below. Bested my original that was well loved and subsequently unloaded. -
Something not guite right with the volume level on this, had to turn up the volume control much higher than usual to achieve the desired level.
Another commented on the soundstage and dynamics (less punchy) , maybe he is right.
It's a decent enough pressing though, quiet, no pops or clicks.
Nearly purchased this of amazon for £23 but found a mint like new copy in Oxfam for only £10. Result!

Edited 2 years agoI disagree. This version sounds less punchy, less direct with smaller stage than this https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/5756556-Tina-Turner-Private-Dancer. I have both and in a direct comparison the older one clearly wins. Only the XRCD CD version seems better. -

Um this version is so good. I have a club edition press from 1984, and while I love having that just for the nostalgia of having a 1984 from 1984 lol.. this is a GREAT press. Sounds crisp, clear, sounds steady throughout both sides. -
Edited 2 years agoDefinitive version. Beats all the original pressings. I saw Tina in concert just before this album came out, and it was an experience I can never forget - the best female live act I’ve ever witnessed.
