I didn’t believe a great album could sound any better, found this by accident from Disc Union Shinjuku from a recent trip to Japan, 3 months ago I bought a Denon CD player with SACD capabilities and this Roxy Music CD was on my wish list, I was blown away… this really sounds awesome and the extra track Always Unknowing as a bonus track,

The high-point of Roxy Music’s career - this album never ages, and it has been lovingly remastered / mixed in all its glory by two of the greats - Ludwig and Clearmountain. Expensive, but worth every cent. There are good reasons why there are so few around these days.

I listened another album, Robbie Roberston, from 87, aslo mixed by Bob Clearmoutain and Bob Ludwig. It's marvellous.
Avalon is marvelous, it's my new calibration record, it's not just some beautiful music, it's also technically perfect.
Clearmoutain and Ludwig appreciate each other, they was working together at Masterdisk. And I think together they reach the pinnacle.

Reference quality Super Audio. Remixed by Clearmountain, mastered by Ludwig with love. Both the Multi-channel & Stereo mixes are sonically stunning.

Yes easily one of the best Sacd records, and none weak song ,one of the best records ever of all time ,so good produced it sound so fresh even today .Gaucho with Steely dan is another perfect record .

This is one of the greatest 5.1 mixes ever. The stereo transfer is very good too. Someone should reissue this!

Brilliant, lush early 80s artpop. This Bob Ludwig SACD version is breathtakingly beautiful--open, full of space, detailed, balanced. This specific version of this particular recording is what "high resolution" is supposed to be about.
