I've had a '79 copy for years and this just blows it away. I was always distracted by the '79 copy's murky sound and lack of depth. This copy is much more detailed. Only complaint is I wish they would have pulled the bass a little further forward, but at least I can hear it now!

Finally bought this remaster, which, as suspected, is the best version i've heard so far!
Different than my 1975 Dutch copy, i'd say better; MUCH more details, finally able to hear all the backing vocals and other sounds i didnt hear before.
Slightly less "warm" due to a more balanced sound, instead of the one-dimensional-lowmidrangey sound of the old one. That sound had its charms, but was always too limited, lifeless and ugly to me.
It didn't serve for the musical grandeur of this beautiful piece of music.
Now this new version can.
It will never be the best sounding album of all time, but with this version, i am happy now!
Also way better than all the digital versions I've heard.
The crisp looking artwork with better contrast compared to the original is a good metaphor/indication for the differences in sound. -
I thinks this reissue really delivers, both on packaging and sound. Outside some MoFi-like super-audiophile pressing, I don't think it gets any better. Recommended!
