Yes, the 12" of pop muzic was a double groove single however, it said on the cover that it was the first double groove single but it wasnt really the first record to have more than one groove.
As early as the 1950's there has been records with multiple grooves, in particular a record that contained many grooves and was a recording of a horse race. The idea was that each groove contained a different ending (winner), so you could play it with a bunch of mates and place bets on which horse would win the race !!
I was a dj when M released pop muzic and I had a free promo copy from MCA. I recall it being a pain in the ass sometimes if I was playing on a wooden stage and someone came up to request a tune because on several occasions the needle jumped and pop muzic became the b side tune of M factor. -
yes! Coincidentally you will start "M Factor" or another version of "Pop Muzik", it depends on just where you lay down the needle. A joke. There's another 12" that does this: International Breakdown Commando:"Eat This".
