My copy of Help! is from the mono box. Got a new turntable and I'm going through the box. Albums sounded great until I got to this one. Thought I broke something because side 1 sounds flat and muddy. Sound 2 more in line with other records. Thankfully not an album I play much.

in my opinion, this one is the only flaw in the mono reissues of 2014. and it is because it is not a perfect 10. help!, the song, sounds muffled and off putting. so does i’ve just seen a face.
however, this pressing contains the absolute best version of yesterday ever committed to vinyl. it’s as if you were hearing paul right in your living room. impressive.
also, ticket to ride sounds nasty af. this is what john was talking about when he said it was a total rocker. -
Edited one year agoThis album sounds great…anyone saying different needs to clean it. “Help” the song doesn’t sound good at all…but the rest is great.
I have a mint Flipback -1 of this in Stereo and this beats it easy. Especially side 2 and most of 1.
I paid $50 for this mint copy with inserts just 5 days ago…stop paying these silly prices for these.
Once you stop paying it..the price with drop.
Only a few of us what these. Get real -
Not a great sounding record IMHO. Glad I only paid £25 for it a few years back and not the prices being asked for now! I prefer the 2012 stereo cut. I guess some people are 'completists' though and need the whole set. I think you'll be disappointed if you pay a lot for this, though. Just my 2 pennies worth.

I have a question for any and all: is this Help Mono a short print? It seems to always run higher in price than all the early Mono Beatles albums on Discogs. It's up there with the MMT album.
-
Absolutely fantastic pressing, per usual from this set. Glad I got this right when this came out. The mix is hit or miss to be honest. The title track doesn't sound that good, it's weak and muddy. However, Ticket to Ride and Yesterday sound INCREDIBLE in their mono mixes.

This pressing is very nice. Its sounds smooth ...clean ...noise free...flat vinyl...and superb sound quality. Def has better sound than the mono box cd set (which is beautiful and has great sound on it own) but when you hear this in comparison...well...you get the picture. Def an item I will eventually down to my Beatle fan kids...maybe.

I own an ‘81 reissue, and compared it to this. Some songs sound more natural on this release, and I love it. It took an arm and a leg (and also 4 years) to get this copy, but I can finally retire my ‘81 pressing

Edited 8 years agoMy "Help!" 2014 mono reissue has "Revolver" labels on the vinyl. The music on it is indeed "Help!"
Some sort of factory defect obviously.
