The woman pictured on the cover is Christine Frka, alias Miss Christine of The GTOs - the original Sunset groupies all-girl group of groupies that Zappa put out on his label. He let them use his studio and paid them a salary for a while. He cancelled their album - then eventually DID put it out. Anyway... They were all regulars at his house in the hills in '68 - the Log Cabin. For decades - I did not realize who that was on the cover.

Anyone need a spare OG jacket? I've got an extra with a totally chewed disc.

Simply phenomenal, what a beautiful piece of art this was from Zappa.

A delicious treat for open ears. The musical themes flow from soothing to upbeat. Simply one of his best.

This is the first time we hear Zappa departing from the doo-wop and sixties social commentary of the early Mothers and developing into the genius we now know him as. I look at Hot Rats and Uncle Meat as the beginning of that departure. Ian Underwood's piano on It Must Be A Camel is just beautiful. A lot of people will say this is Zappa's best record. I definitely think it's his most accessible and therefore a great place to start for new listeners.

Hot Rats kicks off a period of creativity for Zappa that, in my opinion, is unmatched by any other recording artist. From here you can go to Burnt Weenie Sandwich, Chunga's Revenge, Weasels Ripped My Flesh or any number of early seventies Zappa that, for me, represent the best of Zappa's collosal catalogue.

I echo the comments already made here - this is in my opinion Zappa's best album - it's up there with top jazz albums, yeah I just said that, get over it. It's a precursor to prog rock, jazz fusion, just wow. Thank you Frank Zappa for leaving us with this.

This album is beautifully bizarre. The jam session is raw, filled with talent and skill, and perfectly displays Zappa’s brilliance. Must have for any collection. 10/10.

it's probably his best solo album. A movie for your ears for sure!

Simply a masterpiece. Don't pretend to know about jazz fusion if have never listened to this monument and founder of the genre
