do a jitter test on the CD and it is rather tame, normal, at 5.0 but towards the end of the disc around 450Mb there is a huge spike. They seem to have 'baked' in a massive DC jitter spike into the data stream of the CD

Edited 7 years agoReally great album. If you are fortunate enough to have a decent sound system your speakers will not get damaged. The soundstage presented on this album is really good. If you like low clean bass lines. White noise and high frequencies bleeps and such - you’ll dig this album. It plays quite well from start to finish. It’s all subjective I guess. Though if you play anything at top volume there is a good possibility your system will get damaged. Sorry about your cars system. That’s weird because factory installed systems are class d amps. They can handle large volume without distortion nor permanently destroying the speakers.
Overall I prefer 1000 fragments. It’s a bit more melodic. Though to own both and listen back to back - well thats my preference. -

Edited 18 years agoI don't recommend playing this on average quality Hifi or audio equipment. Whilst the production can be revealed on a good system to include a massive acoustic range the same CD completely screwed the speakers on my car's speakers ~ especially its tweeters. Fortunately i still have the warranty and VW have today replaced the whole lot for free. I will not play this again on the road whic is a great pity because I'd love to drive around my home town and cause some mischief amongst the canine community.

Edited 19 years agoThe texture can be pretty neat at times, but for the most part this album is lacking in excitement and it gets old fast.
