Even though I liked this track when it came out, it also felt a bit like 'paint by numbers' from KB. People can be forgiven for maybe saying there's no tune and no hook. I somewhat suspected that it went something like this..

"So Kate, we're putting out a 'best of' album, is there another track you have that we could release as a single and put on there for the KB fans?"
"No, but I'm free tomorrow and could go in the studio to put something together on the Fairlight. Nige and Alan are about so maybe they can help."

In actual fact, here I am over 35 years later and what seemed then like a glossy meandering 'something-or-other' now comes over as a hypnotic, mesmering feast of production, originality and subtlety.
Wasted on the inattentive listeners out there. So much going on in it when you pay attention.

As usual with these 12" singles from EMI at the time, the pressing and sound quality is so nice.
