I love the original song, but this remix I think completely guts it. The intro and second verse, completely botched by effects that take away the power of those moments, the momentum of the song is taken away by how it strips away the build up to the drums. Just not my cup of tea, the original version is a masterpiece and fiddling with it in this way is just sacrilege. I wouldn't mind it all that much if they had the original version here as well - but they don't, only the remix, a b side, and the instrumental for the remix. I would love to own a 12-inch 45rpm version of the original, but none exist. So I guess I'll just stick to my LP of Hounds of Love, or the 7-inch if I can find it.
