Edited one year agoThis has aged pretty well, and some all-star remixers were on board for this one. The two Ciafone mixes are good, but it's hard to tell the difference between the two. Very DJ Pierre-inspired stuff. This is a rare instance where the Weatherall remix is, arguably, the least interesting of the bunch. For me, the two Herbert remixes are the best tracks on here by miles -- I felt that way in 1999 and still feel that way 24 years later. He drops that huge drum sound with a quirky feel and funky samples. Excellent package overall.

Sick John Ciafone (of Mood II Swing) production! Chugging, brooding, psychedelic music for serious dance floors. It's no coincidence that A and C1 are my favorite cuts here. These are strictly Ciafone.

Gritty, dark, grinding deep house. The mixes have titles like "War of the Worlds" and "Apocalypse Now" which seems to fit the mood. Has an occasional "tick tock, tick tock" vocal surrounded by helicopter sounds over an echoey, banging drum track. The result is very wildpitch. Slightly weird but very, very good.
