I have at least 5 vinyl copies of different pressings that I can't compare due to condition issues. This one is my best copy. I suppose to be fair it would be best to compare with reel to reel. On this pressing, I feel there is nothing lacking: sounds of the instruments are separated, I hear organ, strings, piano, vocals, individual guitars, lots of bass punch as well as cymbal treble, a feeling of space in the reverberation, probably true to the master recording. -
Edited one year agoMan, what a great pressing. I have something like ten pressings of SF and without comparing them back to back, this is fantastic! Dynamic, punchy, raw and bluesy…now go and pour yourself some whiskey, get half naked and dance. -
I find this to be a superb pressing that really punches when it needs to. It's the Stones and the mix is amazing. Moonlight Mile is a great song that appears as the last track, and really has a great feel overall. Such an incredible album. -
Edited 4 years agoI thought I had this version, but the label bottom rim text is: ROLLING STONES RECORDS, TM MUSIDOR N.V., DIST BY ATLANTIC RECORDING CORP., 1841 BWAY., N.Y., N.Y.
Both labels have RI suffix.
Side 1 etching matches this release: (faint) 6 BBX 1-11-1 D PR Rolling Stones Records
Side 2 etching: ST-RS-712190 FFF-1 D Rolling Stone Records
I couldn't find any matching copies in Discogs database, anyone familiar with the version I have? -
I have one with everything the same except the record sleeve. On the tongue side, the song titles are not written on the tongue and the song credits to not go that far up the picture and are not boxed.
