First of all I have to say that I'm a big fan of GP - my favourite pressing of Led Zeppelin II is the 1977 19127 ST-A-691671 .MO cut by him. Anyway I have listened to this IV pressing over and over again. I think that more than immersive, this cut has too much bass. Excessive in "Four Sticks" and "Rock And Roll." I prefer the 1977 US, SD 19129 Monarch Pressing, the 1977 UK Kinney Music K50008 and the 1982 Atlantic 50008. In these three editions the sound is much more natural.

I concur with the previous opinions. I have a '75 Porky Pecko and this absolutely creams it. Bass? Yes. Clarity? Yes. IGD? No. I'm done looking for a Zep 4 on vinyl.

Yip this is a terrific pressing - it is clear, crisp with a punchy bass! Yes, it has bass and plenty of it. Unlike all the others I’ve tried including Japanese, the latest lot from JP himself and many others besides. They all sound like 1970s transistor radios but this one is “the dogs” for (craft) beer money 👍👍

Simply an essential masterpiece of a pressing as others are saying. Crystal clear fidelity, guitars and drums jump out, whilst the bass vibrates the room. Doesn't distort toward the end of each side either. Stairway and Levee sound absolutely fantastic, other than a brief tape dropout during stairway. This is, sorry to sound pretentious, Zeppelin IV's equivalent of RL's Zeppelin II. Never thought I'd unironically say it, but it simply is, there'll never be another engineer like Piros, ever. Can't recommend this enough.

Edited 26 days agoReally like this one! So far, my best LZ4. Superior to both the 1971 P/PD-GP and the 2014...a smidge greater than the 1977 GP/MO. The 1982 represses of the big sellers done by GP shortly before he retired have all been winners.

Overall this version sounds good but the bass is muddy at times. Using Uturn with acrylic platter, Nagaoka mp-110, custom rca cables, schiit mani, schiit Jotunheim, periapt xlr cable to Sennheiser 6xx.

Edited 4 years agoIt is the best sounding version I've heard so far. Clarity, bass, headroom - it's all here:)
Blows out of the water PORKY/PECKO DUCK US pressings and of course the dreadful 2014 remaster...
My equipment:
Technics SL-1210GR with KAB fluid damper
Shure V15III @ JICO SAS/B, Shure V15V @ JICO SAS/B, Empire 4000D/I with NOS stylus.
DIY NUDAmini dual mono phono stage.

I have one with NEW AUD on both sides. Boy, these Piros Zeppelin albums are all so great. This one has lots of head room to crank up loud and never sounds harsh. Nice bass too. Another 2014 remaster I will end up selling. This one definitely my go to version now.

Sellers should make sure that BOTH sides match the new 82 and NEW AUD description.
Have had multiple online issues, with only single sided versions. There needs to be a seperate listing for those versions... -
