Neel (2) – Voices From The Lake

This version is still the definitive Voices from the Lake, like a current that flows continuously. The de-mixed version made for the recent vinyl reissue is for vinyl fans, the mixed CD version is for true music fans. And it is the de-mixed version that is on digital and streaming services now and it is a travesty. Not only are new listeners no longer listening to the album as it was originally intended to be heard, this also means that the CD version is not likely to ever resurface again and eventually be forgotten, swept underneath by the vinyl craze. If you are a true music fan, I think it is well worth it to go fishing for this CD.

A little pricey disc since its oop but well worth the investment. Most to my ears ambient dub house after a while starts to sound samey and cookie cutter this album however is NOT of that pigeon hole.
Moody, textural, visceral, deep and continually evolving ambient/dub techno music. This is more thinking mans electronica and tho there is a percussive element theres also alot more going on with the momentary bleeps and buried ambient drones deep in the back of the stereo field. This is gold and stands a testament when musicians following their own artistic muse.

YES! Probably the most anticipated techno re-release in years has finally seen the light of day! I had given up hope that this would ever happen and it was stuck in license limbo but here we are. Not many albums live up to the groupthink hype but this is one of them. My most treasured release of 2023 thus far by a mile and highly recommended!

I once made out with my boyfriend and when he asked me to put on some music I went for this. IIRC we made it through the whole album ;)

I cant find words to describe how perfect this album is. I've been listeting to it for months now, and I can't get enough... Anybody knows at least half as good as this album? I'm looking for something similar...

In my never ending search for perfection in the many genres of music I love I would say this is as close to perfection as it comes with regards to electronic music. The cd album is basically one song. Although it has an 11 song track listing in reality this is one incredible song. It's not even really a song....it's an incredibly powerful and beautiful sonic journey. I see the "Ambient Techno" tag in a lot of reviews for this. I would disagree with that description. It seems to me that because the music is so beautiful that it gets the "Ambient" tag.....make no mistake .....this is powerful music and a real work-out for any sound system out there.
The 3x12" vinyl version is obviously an incredible piece of wax too....however I find that this would be the only time I have been blasting the cd instead simply due to the fact it is a single piece of music in my opinion that should not be stopped. Sure it's great to play out on vinyl but this is something to indulge yourself in. This album makes me be selfish and have it all to myself under the headphones!! In short....this album is pure geniusand as an electronic music fan you NEED it. Get it on cd AND vinyl!!

This album is great to dance to, leave on in the background, and to study to as well. It's a great album all around! I'm so glad I found this gem!
