I am trying to figure out which is the very first UK pressing, though I suppose it is an impossible task.
One thing which I noticed on UK copies that I own is that the publishers are all 'Copyright Control', ie non ed, no publishing company on the labels and non listed on the lyric sheet. I am guessing that a lack of publishing company indicates an early UK pressing.
Regarding the UK singles released from the LP we have 'Go Your Own Way' (Feb 1977), 'Don't Stop' (Apr 1977) and 'Dreams' (Jun 1977) all Copyright Control on all pressings, but then 'You Make Loving Fun' (Sept 1977) uses publisher Intersong Music. So I assume that it was only a few months that Copyright Control was seen on UK pressings of the Rumours LP.
Also what is the story with textured sleeves and Gothic Press?
Any comments?
Thank you. -
I've owned this particular Ken Perry cut since the album was released. Apparently there are/were many different KP cuts of varying SQ available. Most are good, but this early one is probably one of his best...very clean and punchy with plenty of bite and shimmering cymbals. If you come across a good copy don't hesitate to pick it up.

This is a very nice sounding pressing. I do not have much of a basis for comparison but it sounds fantastic to me.
