Damn. Poor chap below 🥺👇
Me however... im MADE UP with this one. Theres a mild dish warp but it matters not... playback is nigh silent. I would understand the dishwarp complaint more if it wasnt for the fact a crap compound thats pressed dead flat will have groove roar/noise floor issues that a quiet compound with a slight dishing just doesnt. Do these dish warp moaners ever play their records without jumping on here to moan?
Anywhoo.... yes.... the mastering. One of KPG's best of the series so far. Better than my Rhino Bernie 33. Better than my AP Bernie 2x45. High praise.
This series seems to have a thing for putting the HIGH in high fidelity by boosting the upper ends to provide clarity no matter the cost. Its worked with some cuts, its ruined others. The Doors earlier stuff is not that well recorded. Along with the self titled debut, Waiting For The Sun has really benefitted from the added high fidelity (EQ'ing).
Glad to have another RHF title i can recommend without any doubt! -
Unfortunately my copy is just an absolute hunk of shit. Looks great visually but plays like a G+ or even G record for the most part across both sides. It’s got to be a pressing error though because the actual music sounds phenomenal. Reached out to Rhino about it but since I bought my copy secondhand, they basically said fuck off. Womp womp.

The Unknown Soldier (final track on side A) sounds terrible! Or did i just receive a bad copy?
Other than this, i did not notice any issues with any of the 6 Doors RHF albums i bought....clean, flat and great sounding releases!

Edited 3 months agoThis is an Outstanding pressing. Beautiful detail, crystal clear highs and mids and strong bass. Dead quiet vinyl. Packaging is top notch, though I wish Rhino would get the tightness of the sleeves right. The record is a mutha to get in and out! Had me cussing, scared I’d destroy the inner sleeve. Definitely not the best Doors album musically, but the sound makes it even better. This certainly lives up to every bit of the hype. Fantastic. Rhino High Fidelity proves that these albums can outdo Acoustic Sounds without going to 45 RPM! I Knew it could be done. DCC did it years ago, lol
