Edited 4 months agoI didn't like this pressing until I "upgraded" to the 2024 half speed master - after comparing the two, I can say without a doubt that this 2011 release is superior in almost every way.
-
Outstanding pressing, really quiet, great low-end and incredible separation. A pressing that serves well this masterpiece.

Very happy with that vinyl . Received it as brand new. Shrink wrapped. Both records in excellent shape. No pops, the sound is very good to me.
However, I find the cardboard of the sleeve is very thin. -
My copy is flat, the mastering is outstanding, no QC issues. I was pleasantly surprised. This reissue slams. Can’t see how this can be improved sonically by another pressing. Best I’ve heard this.
-
Don't stress about the negative reviews. My pressing is sound. Masterpiece album, an absolute must have.

Edited 2 years agoMy copy was slightly warped. Thankfully, there was no degradation in sound quality. Overall, it sounded good to me, even though it was probably ripped. There were occasional pops, but likely from the original sampling. I paid the full price for this album. No regrets. It needed to be in my collection. Packaging was ok, I’m still drawn in by that iconic cover. I could envision this repress with gatefold pics of Shadow digging in some dank basement with a short retrospective piece on the creative process behind this master work. Maybe next time round. The beginning of this album speaks to where Shadow was at this point in time as a DJ. I’m a student of the drums, and I’m also a teacher of the drums too.

Edited 3 years agoSurprised by how good this pressing ended up sounding. Not as bad as people made it out to be.
-
Well...this does sound like a CD (which i have)... I might give it away as a birthday present to a friend who's ears are not as sharp as mine (for now). Awesome album though but mastering is flat. Darn shame.
-
Edited 4 years agoAlbum is great, pressing is horrible. There's something like dried glue on the edges of my copy.
