One of the best pressings in my collection. I found a "used" copy at Newbury not knowing it was a 1969 pressing in NM condition. -

Edited 13 years agoBased on http://www.fab4collectibles.com/apple_lp.htm, this is the second variant of the original release. Cover Version #2. It's described as "print on board" not a "slick" on cardboard. A black square can be seen on the bottom end of the white stripe between Ringo and John. This is missing from the later versions because the image had to be expanded for the covers that were made with slicks on cardboard. "Her Majesty" is listed on cover and on the label. Cover Version #2 is considered more rare than cover #1 since fewer were made this way with "Her Majesty" on the cover.
My copy is a Scranton pressing with the "print on board" cover. It's not white poster board but it's definitely not a slick either. The label has "MFG. BY APPLE RECORDS, INC" on the sliced Apple side (B-Side). The run-outs etchings show "SO1-383-F7#3" with the Scranton IAM triangle and "SO2-383-H8" (no #) with the Scranton IAM triangle. The label on my copy is best described on the site referenced above as “APP383SR2J(ii)(as), Spizer). I assume that’s a reference to a book on the subject by Bruce Spizer.
With so many variants of this release, it's best to describe as much as possible about it. This listing seems closest to my copy.
