Edited 3 months agoThis pressing is really good. No complaints. Sounds as good as it should. Highly recommended.
Great album. -
The album sounds great and the mastering is clear - but strangely for a brand new record I needed a wipe/clean it to get rid of Mr click/pop/crackle which is very lame.

I don't quite understand the harsh criticism that is read here about this edition. Mine sounds perfect, with an interesting dynamic range, a master that to my ears is pristine and, except for something very occasional, few crackles, pops or surface noise, which do not affect the listening of this masterpiece at all.
Maybe I've been lucky, since for example I'm not so enthusiastic about the editions of 'Rain Dogs' or 'Bone Machine' (without seeming at all as bad as Discogs says), but both this one and 'Franks Wild Years' me They have seemed superb editions. In between would be my assessment of Black Rider: better than Rain or Bone but below Swordfishtrombones or Franks. -

I have the Canary Yellow one. Absolutely spot on!
No warping, scuffs or marks, quality inner bag with lyrics. good artwork reproduction.
Plays dead silent between tracks and quieter moments. sounds fantastic on my mid priced Marantz/ audio technica system.
Appears black version is a bad press run! -
The worst of the three recent reissues. None are great but this looked (and sounded) like it had been rolled around the pressing plant floor.

Piss poor quality control from GZ again - non-fill and noise throughout side 1. Have not even bothered with side 2. Will try a replacement and see if things improve. GZ should be ashamed of their total lack of QC!
