Edited 27 days agoMy pressing is clean as a whistle. Not a pop or click on the whole record. This sounds amazing to my ears. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds records don’t have conventional mixes on their records. Another band that is similar to them in that department is The Cure. Honestly, I find this pressing really good. To me it sounds punchy and detailed. Sure the record sounds a little forward which some may qualify as “boxy” but there is good instrument separation and it creates a very unique vibe. That’s the best I can explain it.
Anyway here is the equipment I listened this record on:
TT: Fisher MT-6225
Cart: AT-VM95ml
Amp: Harman/Kardon hk495i
Speakers: Tannoy C-8 -
Edited one year agoOverall, really cool. The vocals on the first song sound horrible in the mix… distant and compressed. The band sounds great when they break through the vocals. The rest of the album though, is incredible. Not audiophile, a bit compressed at times, but probably the best we can get for this album.

I was concerned about reviews but had to have this. Maybe I got lucky, but my copy sounds great. No noise, excellent separation, and clarity.

Excellent pressing (at least my copy...). But mixing is weird. It sounds a bit boxed, remote, congested, a bit as if playing from underwater.
-
Quality control on this is awful. Pressing itself sounds good but a brand new record shouldn't have a great big fat dirty fingerprint on the first track, as well as scratches and divots causing loud pops. Very disappointing because otherwise its a great record.

People who write this version sounds good, should have their ears checked out by a doctor. Yes there are some good moments, but mostly it sounds flat and compressed. The cover is also not so good and looks like a scan from another sleeve. I guess I will have to continue my search and sell this one...

Haven’t heard the original pressing but this one sounds spot on to me. 9/10
Sounds really good. Very enjoyable -
I have the same pressing, same EAN,.. But i dont have the sticker on front with mp3 , also no code included. BMG seems to spend up their money..

Good sound but ugly cover art. Looks like a poor scan of the original. You can even see some photocopied dust and scribbles if you look closely. Sound wise it's great. A bit cold and digital perhaps. I would get the original DMM pressing.
