You should wait for the new reissue from DSP, mastered from the DAT tapes (and not from the cd like all the reissues of De mysteriis dom sathanas) by Pytten from Grieghallen ...but the pre orders are until february,20th and out in april 2020. And there will not be other press.

Edited 5 years agoAnother +1 for the great pressing quality. Good detail and dynamics, great looks. It's by no means perfect, but easily one of the better sounding BoB reissues. If it sounds flat and lifeless to you it's probably time to dump that plastic Lenco and get something decent, or wait for the modern ultra-compressed pressing if that's what is required to make your equipment sing.

+1 for the great pressing quality. Little surface noise, great amount of details and transparency. Sounds really good.

Edited 5 years agoJust got this LP today and on the first listen I am impressed by the quality. It sounds equally or maybe marginally better than the cd. Great detail, great dynamics. I even heard things I've never heard until now, especially on the title track.Get it if you can. I hope next year we will see the box set becoming reality. Until then this vinyl will do the job perfectly.

Agreed with siCk79... I picked up a copy because "fuck it, I NEED to own this landmark album on vinyl" and couldn't be happier with the sound quality. Great pressing, looks killer in purple, sound is not compressed but full range, every snare hit and cymbal crash sounds exactly as it's supposed to, no element is lacking or buried in the mix. Phenomenal quality IMO

Edited 5 years agoSounds flat, lifeless, with poor dynamics. 23 mins per side is too much for that music. I have CD repress by DSP, and it sounds a lot better.

How is the quality of these BoB reissues? Are these comparable to the Century Media reissues at least (which are supposedly very impressive)?
